    Default NEW: BigBottle MC&MM Phonostage

    Hi all,

Thought it would be prudent to start a new thread for the new phonostage.

By new, I just mean that we have added the capability to switch between MM and MC

Originally, I hadn't wanted to add the function as I couldn't see me needing it but there was enough interest from the guys over at DIYaudio to make it happen.

Alan and I enlisted the help of a fella called Andy (handle escapes me) and we set about making the new PCB.

The BOM contains all of the quality parts that were originally selected for the MC board.

The whole pcb will be fitted with 1% Vishay resistors and 1% Vishay capacitors where possible.

Where not, equivalent quality parts have been selected.

We have enlisted a couple of guys to assist in the Beta stage so there are currently 4 boards being constructed.

I'll post a few pics of the progress I've made.

It may not be interesting to anyone but you never know lol

The big Mundorf caps are not soldered in, they are only in for investigating how big the caps could be for that position.

    A bit more progress.

My super cute valve bases have arrived. I chose these because of the small footprint. I love them.

    Ceramic and gold plated contacts.

    Sweet.

Cheers mate, seems to take forever for stuff to arrive from China, especially when you have no other projects on the go lol
