Hi Folks

Ok well I sorted the DCB1 (note to self make some summary notes on the thread ) and now it's time to start on the Bigbottle MC phono stage that Oliver has invented with the assistance of Alan. I have had the pcb for a while and been collecting parts for the past few months so am at the stage where I can start the build , hence the new thread to document the trials and tribulations of this numpty project . It is the 1st iteration of the board so MC only, not the more recent mm/mc one.

I've been thinking about this for a while and really wanted to expose the valves, however the board heatsink and other component sizes make this a bit difficult. Thinking on it I though I'd make a sub frame so that I can suspend the valve holders above the PCB, linking them by wire soldered onto the valve holder and then soldered onto the corresponding place on the pcb below. This can then sit just below the case and hopefully allow me to expose the valves for all to see and admire

So I bought some 2 mill aluminium plate and did some drilling today to see if this make sense or not and made the subframe, the pics should give you an idea of what I mean.
