Haha,
I love it.
Getting close now
I have been very kindly and nicely advised by a a fellow AOSer that lifting the valve bases off the PCB using leads may lead to the risk of oscillation and unwanted RF pick up with the BBC world service (my words not his ) or some such coming through instead of clean vinyl style tunez
To prevent this I will need grid stopper resisters near the valve bases it seems and so I'll have to read around the subject as this is way too techy for me atm
In the mean time any thoughts/advice most welcome!
If it comes to it I can always move the valve bases back to the PCB, which would be a shame but not a disaster!
Cheers Electronumpty!

Why do you want to separate the valve bases from the PCB?
It's called the Miller effect: http://www.valvewizard.co.uk/gridstopper.htmlOriginally Posted by smangus
However if you do add grid stoppers, you will be changing Alan's design and perhaps the overall sound. I would suggest you seek Alan's advice.
