    That's an issue with most things Giles Martin does. The white album and Sgt pepper have that issue.

    Yes I have the 2 cd version and the single lp version and the cd is a little bit loud, DRC Database confirms this, though it still sounds good, the vinyl on the other hand is spot on, maybe mastered a little lower than usual, but it's half speed and sounds superb.

    Sorry to ask a dumb question but I assume this is a different mastering to the 180g Abbey Road I bought in 2016 from the Abbey Road store?

    That one (to my ears anyway) sounded like a fresh pressing of the one I've had since early years of high school (about 1975).

    it is yes.. i used have it too on vinyl.. fact i think i still do...think i might have it on cd too

    The 50th Anniversary edition is a remix.
    It's pretty faithful to the original mix, but coming from multi track source it's possible to eq things to have a bit more flesh on the bones.
    I like it.
