There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing and be nothing Aristotle
I used to use Ilford FP4 for B&W photography (somtimes I used Kodak Tri-X), but like Alex I don't use my film cameras since the advent of digital photography and the cessation of manufacture (and processing) by Kodak of Kodachrome 64.
I believe Ilford make most of their money through the supply of film for X-ray machines, though no doubt, this field of use is being encroached upon by digital techniques.

It's 10 years since I last had any X-Rays done, and all digital suites were common then.

Common sense isn't anymore!
I think it must be 10 years since I had an X-ray taken; and it used film. But you are probably right - the fluorescent screen is nowadays most likely to be digitally scanned rather than photographed.

What's the news about Ilford? Have they announced they are closing?
I do hope not. Love their stuff - keep meaning to shoot film again.

Hmm, yes the digital onslaught takes no prisoners.
I've still got a bunch of Ilford and Fuji 120 rolls stored in a fridge. Perhaps I should get some more.
When Kodak announced the closure of their kodachrome processing I got 10 rolls and was in the very last batch for processing. They had already closed their labs in the UK and Holland, my stuff went all the way to the States (at their cost). Kodachrome 64 was simply wonderful.
