    Sorry!

I just feel guilty celebrating a Liverpool win when I know it's at the expense of the team you support. I can be less considerate in future, if you like?

I also note that Iheanacho scored a 94th minute winner for Leicester, at home against Everton, and so they're now clear in second spot by three points. What BR's doing there deserves to be recognised and given due praise.. Hey, you never know, they could yet be dark horses!

Wonder what odds you'd get now from the bookies on another title success for Leicester? Could be worth sticking £20 on!

Absolutely, but I have good reasons for my prediction, which I'll reveal later. *BUT*, much will depend on what happens midweek, and thus who goes into the cup final with the greatest desire to win, plus also the fitness of Edouard, and whether he plays. All will have a bearing on matters.

I have been repeatedly flummoxed with the lack of cutting edge, and the lack of clinical finishing that has epitomised City performances this season.
Couple that with Guardiola's reticence in changing things around at the 60 minute mark, and it makes it all the more difficult for players coming on as subs.
David Silva and Riyad Mahrez were subbed off at around 75 minutes, and the subs, Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden had an enormous impact.
Had they been given another 15 minutes they might have had a hand in or scored goals themselves.

As a City supporter it's frustrating!
I am always mindful of the injury issues we have, and the teams we put out are all too often close, but no cigar.

Newcastle were a tough team to break down, and their 2 goals were superb, so all power to their elbows.

The run up to the winter break down is crucial for both teams, we will know a lot more about both teams when we reach that point.

The only thing that goes in City's favour is that Liverpool won't know whether they're coming or going with all the toing and froing to Qatar and back.
Jet lag is going to hit Liverpool if nothing else does.
City have a flight out to Zagreb, but they'll be running permanently on UK time, despite the early kickoff.

Yup, remember what happened last season when you were in a similar position at this time of the year....?

Don't think that will happen this time, though!!

One area of concern for me, however, if I were a Rangers fan, is where are all the goals going to come from if Morelos gets injured and is out for a number of games?

I know that Kent's chipping in with a few now, and Defoe, when he plays will also contribute, but the significant difference between Rangers and Celtic is that we've got goals virtually throughout the whole team, and can still score four away from home in the league, and in Europe comfortably beat a team like Rennes, without a recognised striker...

And for me, that's why what happens in the January transfer window with both teams will be very significant, in terms of who goes on to win the league.

Time will tell Marco, we scored 5 today with only 1 by Morelos, so we will see what happens. We only really the two strikers just now, although Celtic played again without a recognized striker again for most of the game today.

I think you make some valid points. Sometimes I get similarly frustrated with Neil Lennon, in terms of why he's waiting until the 71st minute of games to bring on our currently only (supposedly fit) striker, and playing a winger in his place up until that point, when instead said striker (Leigh Griffiths) could be building up his match sharpness/fitness properly (as he's been out for a long time) by playing from the start...?

Our manager has got away with that decision so far, but I doubt it will continue. Returning to City, I'm sure things will change when you get all of your 'big guns' back. You'll just have to hope that Liverpool haven't ran away with the league by then...

However, and for me this is the thing: I'm a great believer that in football success comes in cycles, and right now all the signs are there that this will be Liverpool's year, and thus an end to their title-winning drought. Balances of power in football eventually (and historically) tend to shift, and that could also be the case soon up in Scotland. Celtic can't go on winning everything forever - and indeed have no divine right to either.

That may change in the EPL though, should City pull off a remarkable comeback in the league.

But my gut says no, simply because I believe that this is Liverpool's year, and are now entering their cycle for success, just as lately it has been City's. Therefore, if Liverpool win the title this year, I believe it will be followed by a few more, *as long* as they can hold onto Klopp! He's the catalyst behind Liverpool's recent success - and the reason he's been successful is because he's been given time to do his job, which sadly is a luxury rarely afforded to other managers of the top teams in the EPL.

However, if Klopp wins the title this year with Liverpool, and given that he's already won the CL with them, he may feel that it's 'job done', and want to bail out while he's at the top, *if* the likes of Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern or PSG were to come calling for his signature in the summer. I suspect if that doesn't happen though, he'll be at the helm again next season, and almost certainly so if Liverpool don't win the league.
