Blimey, I see they sell it by the every 5cm! How have you wired it up then Jamie? Presumably the two inner cores as positive and return and the braided shield connected to return at one end only?

I can’t bring myself to do any more cable comparisons at present - and anyway, I’ve suddenly been loaned some amps to try.....

I thought you might, I have started burning my pair in with the loaned Frybaby, I will let you know if it improves further.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Analog Inputs: Pro-Ject Signature 10 TT & arm, Benz Micro LP-S, Michel Cusis MC, Goldring 2500 and Ortofon Rondo Blue cartridges, Hitachi FT5500 mk2 Tuner

Digital:- Marantz SA-KI Pearl CD player, RaspberryPi/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro, Buffalo NAS Drive

Amplification:- AudioValve Sunilda phono stage, Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-80 power amp

Output: Wilson Benesch Vector speakers, KLH Ultimate One Headphones

Cables: Tellurium Q Ultra Black II RCA & Chord Epic 2 RCA, various speaker leads, & links

I think I am nearing audio nirvana, but don’t tell anyone.

Well I'll be b&gg**ed I came home this afternoon from the wedding I had been to yesterday in Hampshire and the Frybaby had nearly finished burning in the Belden interconnects. My best friends presented me with both vol 1 and 2 of David Bowie in Montreal recently released, so I put on the first record of Vol 1 and played both sides. My thoughts were, well this is musically good as its Bowie but the recording sounded a little muddied/cluttered to me, which can often be the case with live recordings. Then I thought OK lets put the burnt in Belden cables in and see what transpires. Well it was a bit of a shock everything sounded clearer with a more open sound stage and much less muddled and clutter, there seems to be more life and energy in the presentation now.

So on went my a couple of my main test listening tracks, Ravi Shankar - Portrait of a Genius track 1 and it was as I thought more depth and clarity overall, there is better focus and definition of instruments with more detail, quite astonishing. I was pretty sceptical about getting much improvement but whatever the Frybaby is doing it is working for me!

10cc - Wall Street Shuffle, once again crispier, punchier great separation and detail, and the bass is so tight and detailed, just more of everything.

Eva Cassidy - Fields of Gold (original live recording), now it sounds so smooth and clear, the acoustic guitar harmonics and overtones are clearer, Eva's voice good as ever but somehow more real, I can close my eyes and imagine her standing there singing in my lounge.

The above listening was done using my JBL L100's and with the KARMA cables from LFD Phono Stage to ALLNIC amp as I had left it from Friday's listening.

I have absolutely no idea what is going on here, with the Frybaby putting a current through the cables for 24 hours and then a voltage through them for 48 hours, but whatever the Frybaby is doing it is making quite an impact on the end result. So we have gone from what I described earlier, the Belden cable, as very good cable which is very good value for money to an extremely good cable!!
