Not a fan of Izal bog paper. Its just too smooth, the effect being not unlike spreading butter on toast

My requirements change from day to day, and reduce as the week wears on. Monday dump needs at least 5 wipes (honestly I don't know where it all comes from), whereas by Thursday I'm heading into "Ghost shite" territory. This is when a wipe reveals nothing on the paper. These are good days, and I'm sometimes tempted to replace it on the roll for the next person to use.

Don't know which make we buy, I'll be sure to ask her when she gets back. She doesn't keep them in the packaging (just checked), just leaves them piled up in the bathroom cupboard looking like Corinthian columns, but without the fancy scroll bit on top.

I remember when I was a kid, there was an emporium of tat called "Billy's Joke shop", where you could buy itching powder, plastic dog turds, and special bog paper which looked like Izal, but was discretely extra thin in the middle, right where your finger tips would be. No doubt this would have been one of Health & Safety's first casualties.

We went to “The UK’s Largest Joke Shop” (allegedly) in Hunstanton yesterday, and yes, it was a joke, compared to what I remember. No itching powder, no stink bombs. But my son did buy some fake poo which he has been playing with ever since... and both kids wanted a pen with a loo on the top which a turd pops out of... you can’t beat toilet humour!

That pen sounds like the business, do they have an online shop? And if so can anyone shop there, or do you have to "log in" first?

Like that pen! Would be a big hit with my customers.

The dog poo is quite a bit paler than I remember them being, probably a reflection of modern canine diets. The product name used to be "Mucky Pup" - I couldn't afford one, so I had the "Mucky Puss" which was smaller and a shilling cheaper.

Hope you could drag yourself away from "Murder She Wrote" long enough to make them a brew. We like to stay hydrated you know
