    That all depends on driver requirements, I'm no expert but it doesn't necessarily rule them all out. Plus you can get a hiface and use an old converter via spdif which a lot of people do as they prefer the more natural sound of those to many modern ones, which seen to compete on resolution terms and often lose out on musicality (ESS sabre chips often being mentioned here).
