Default Wifi all in one speaker Roon compatible for Kitchen/Bedroom

    Any suggestions
Wifi all in one speaker, Roon compatible for Kitchen/Bedroom.

My wife wants sounds around the house but isn't interested in touching the main system.

Must be able to link it via wifi to the Roon server (in the main system)
NO Faff option, at this stage avoiding Rpi etc..

Not critical listening, mostly tipsy cooking listening
    But must sound decent

    Cheers

    Sonos

Play 1 will suffice and can be paired to give stereo but even with 1 they sound really good.

Roon should see them as a player no problem and can be controlled via tablet or smartphone.

We use a Play 3 in kitchen but I prefer the Play 1 audio. My daughter has a Play 1 in her bedroom and my other daughter uses a Play 5 in her hairdressing salon. If you don't fancy any of those models them bluesound are Roon certified but I've never heard any of them.

The Sonos speakers can be linked for multiroom or used a separates.

One of these might fit the requirements, linking audio from computer via bluetooth

it also has storage on USB and a TF card, + FM radio and a alarm clock, so pretty versatile.

Best bit of kit I’ve heard for this is the old Squeezebox Boom.
Room filling sound in a small package.
    https://www.trustedreviews.com/revie...queezebox-boom

Older and not officially supported, but a wonderful sounding all in one Roon endpoint.
Chuffed to bits with mine in the bedroom until I got a 2nd system in there.

Classic piece of kit, Id say get a hold of one of these, works seamlessly with Roon.
Squeezeboxes were so far ahead of their time.
    AC POWER
Hardwired 10kVA balanced mains powering entire system
    AMPS
Meridian 557 power Amp (Modded) / PS Audio BHK Preamp (Modded)
    SPEAKERS
    Wharfedale Evo 4.4
    DAC
    PS Audio Directstream (Modded)
    TURNTABLE
Pro-Ject X8 balanced output via XLR / Ortofon Quintet Blue cartridge
    PHONOSTAGE
Pro-Ject DS3 B balanced Input (TT and Phonostage powered by Pro-Ject Power box RS2 linear psu)
    DIGITAL
OPPO 203 (Modded: Linear PSU, i2s output to Dac) - Roon Endpoint, HDMI input used for all things Streaming/ PS5 /AppleTV ... also good for movies apparently?
    MUSIC PLAYBACK
Tweaked AP-Linux based Roon Server into Oppo 203 as Roon endpoint
    Ipad Roon Remote.
Apple Music/ YouTube via AppleTV, fed to Dac via Oppo HDMI input/i2s output to Dac.
    SPEAKER CABLES
Biwired: Duelund DCA10GA (Bass) Duelund DCA16GA (mid & treble) Duelund 12DCA used as jumpers (On
"Blackcat Cable" Chris Sommivigo's advice - yup, even with biwire it sounds better - and it does)
    INTERCONNECTS
All Balanced: Ghost+ recording studio XLR cables

In addition to the Sonos range try the Bluesound range. Better quality audio - so I understand. But is pricier than the Sonos range.

But also consider Google Home. As you heard at my place it works just great with Roon - and you also can have Google Home tell you jokes if you want. SQ is low fi though.

Maybe the Bluesound sound will get you thinking "why do I have the crappy Tannoys here?"
    Current: [P20] Roon/Tidal > Custom PC> Chevron Paradox NDF16 > Phast Pre > Neuro. 686 > Tannoy Berkley (RFC tweaks)
