But not CDRs and does have a heat problem that can cause discs not to play. I know, I've had 2.

A few years back I was shopping for an affordable but decent CD player for my daughter. After a lot of research I settled on the Marantz. I wonít swear to the model number but maybe a 4004?It was about $400 new. And from all the reviews I could find it had a higher reliability rate than most other brands. After I got it home, I did a side by side sound quality test against my Sony ES, and it was so similar it was hard to tell the difference. Thatís been many years back, and itís still working well. So, Iím sure you can find an even higher model Marantz used for £400, well worth consideration.
