    Default Jobs For The Weekend

In the words of Monty Don just wondering what everyone's little (audio) "jobs for the weekend" are.

Interested because I don't think I've ever had a longer list to tackle!

Literally anything audio related, no job too menial or errr . . . sad (only in other non audio peoples opinions of course).

My list (in no particular order) which I'd be amazed to complete half of!

    - Test new mixes of bio ethanol/de-ion water in my new ultra-sonic record cleaner
    - Make up 3 power leads using some nifty cryo treated, rhodium plated IEC connectors
    - Fit and setup an AT440mlb cart on an Ortofon headshell
    - Audition my new phono stage (Arcam RPhono) against my current two

Unfortunately these are unlikely to count towards my additional list of things to complete provided by my other half, it will however be a little more rewarding hopefully!

    Cheers

    1. Listen to some music
    2. Um, listen to some more music!

Actually, I do have one job which I've wanted to do for ages which is to swap the Aura amp in the summerhouse system for the T-Amp in the dining room as I want to see how the Wharfedale 220's I'm using in there sound with a bit more "oomph" up them, but because I "thoughtfully" lodged the power supply behind the sideboard I can't move it without emptying contents of said sideboard.

Oh, and I still have to look at my Garrard as I think the crappy SME connector has come adrift and have lost a channel. So that's 2.

Oh, hang on, all the stuff I've put in the garage needs going through and some of it putting on ebay. Ok, job number 3.

Now I think about it, one of the banana plugs on the outside system fell off and ended up just attaching bare wires to the binding post - job number 4 to sort.

And now I've worked out that Logitech Media Server isn't going to be the answer to integrate my FLAC files with Tidal and Spotify in one platform without buying a Logitech Touch I''m going to trial a few other media servers. Oh, 5 jobs then...

Just remembered, I need to go through the cupboard in the "study" (kid's junk room) to sort through all the old cables and hi-fi bits and bobs and hopefully find my badgers-arse-hair record brush which has gone missing.

Oh sod it, nope, no jobs at all, just going to listen to some music! (But good luck with yours Chris!)

Of course this "job" goes without saying Alex, although It'd have felt wrong classifying it as such along side these "tasks"!!

Badgers arse hair . . . so that's what it is. All these years I'd mistakenly assumed they were Sinead o'Connor's left over bits . . .

Not 100% it was badgers arse, could have been some other more exotic mammal. I know it cost over £100 when I bought it (much to my wife's incredulity!) so a bit gutted if it has gone AWOL. Actually, if it was Sinead O'Connor's "left over bits" that could explain the cost? Certainly would have been from her head though, the hairs were perfectly straight!

And you're right, listening to music shouldn't be classed as a "task" although the album by the Jonas Brothers I just played after Shaun posted about it was certainly a bit of a chore!

Tomorrow I have to drive all the way to Cheshire (50 miles), listen to some stereos, drink beer, then drive all the way back. And I'm not even getting paid for this Actually Anita will be doing the driving, so that's one chore delegated.
