Default Womens World Cup Football Has Arrived!

What a match tonight between Japan and The Netherlands!

I think the commentators have just summed up that there is a greater sense of fair play, far less fouls, a clean game and a real tactical match. Loving it and Japan are now looking the better side.

When I get into it, its finally arrived. Viewing figures are up significantly around the world and there is super skill on display.

If you want to see a textbook 4-4-2 the work rate and skill are laudable.

My general thoughts is that its a purer game of football because its less cynical than the mens game. Its not a gender issue and nobody can patronise them as these women are highly skilled footballers.

edit Japan were robbed...its a funny old game

ou might slip, you might slide, you might
Stumble and fall by the road side
But don't you ever let nobody drag your spirit down
Remember you're walking up to heaven

Don't let nobody turn you around
… Walk with the rich, walk with the poor
Learn from everyone, that's what life is for
And don't you let nobody drag your spirit down

Well it's certainly buggered up the BBC schedules for the last couple of weeks! The only saving grace is that it encourages me to listen to more music.

An unusual attitude for a woman, but Mrs. P doesn't like to see women doing certain things: football, stand up comedy (she only likes Jo Brand) and she doesn't want to see women being unrealistically effective in movie fight scenes (with the exception of Kill Bill).

I find this attitude rather chauvinistic - I don't mind seeing women doing things traditionally performed by men, as long as they have big tits

Method in my madness - one day, when the 'smooth' look falls out of favour, and all the women have knackered their follicles through over-application of Veet, my hand-built toupes des minges will be flying off the shelves

I'm not usually a fan of football at all, I used to endure premier league games on the TV as my ex was a big fan. But I caught a few world cup games last weekend when house sitting and thoroughly enjoyed them. No precious attitudes, no egos, a much greater sense of fair play, and what came across as genuine desire to play well and win.

Unfortunately, you may be spot on with that. Maybe once they become household names and command the ludicrous wages it will all change for the worse.

As long as the ironing, hoovering, washing, darning, grass cutting, shopping etc etc etc is done I see no problems with women playing footie as long as they're back in time to make the supper and fetch me slippers.
