That's my amplifier boxswapping well and truly buggered.
Stock pic as it seems impossible to take a decent pic at home of this amp with its black fascia.
Ah well, there's still DACs and cables and equipment supports and mains doodads to swap.
I just can't imagine a better sounding amp for my system and my tastes.
Marantz HD-AMP1.
Class D, 35wpc (70wpc into 4 ohms).
Sorted.
It's so good, I've now bought 2 of them, one for my 2nd system as well.

The internal DAC doesn't sound that great - it's well worthwhile to use an external DAC of your choice into the analog inputs.
Fabulous amp, though!

No I used my Chinese one. But tried the quad again after a few months and was surprised it had improved. Dunno if it's powered up even when not being used. I use it all time now and is top notchHmm, tricky - that means using it while it sounds quite poor in the hope that it improves after a while.
Life seems too short for that sort of thing!
