A bloke I used to work with (I'll call hime Dave, because that was his name) had a particular 'line to take' with salespeople who rang him at home. He'd let them say their piece, then say 'I'm too busy to talk right now. Give me your home number and I'll call you back'. They'd invariably say they didn't want to be contacted at home, to which he'd reply 'Neither do I. Now fuck off and don't call me again.'
I've done the call blocking on occasions, but it only stops that particular number. It had little effect on the number of unwanted calls I received. I'm guessing the person on the next desk over has a slightly different number to the one I blocked. Honestly, it's like playing Whack-a-Mole, but without the satisfaction of actually smacking the waste of space over the head.
