For us Portsmouth is considered kinda the poor area and Southsea the posh & expensive area

I live in the Portmouth bit as does Colin

When Colin was buying his house we looked at houses in Southsea but for the same money you can get a house twice the size in parts of Portsmouth, which is what he did...

My sister moved to Fazakerley in Liverpool about 25 years ago. I hired a van and helped her move from leafy Brampton in Cambridgeshire. Fazakerley was a shock to a 25 year old East Anglian! I'd never seen houses with metal roller shutter doors protecting all the windows/doors, or razor wire coiled on extension roofs. She bought a place in Aintree bordering the racecourse a couple of years later which was a much nicer area.

That must've been the posh bit, as mental shutters wouldn't protect much against grenades.

Yup, I kinda had that figure in mind. Thing is, in most parts of the UK you can easily pay £250k, for some new-build piece of shit in a soulless housing estate...

Amazing that properties like that are so near your place. Wonder if they still have their original interiors or most of the old features?
