Beautiful dog - well done for giving her a home (had our rescue Staffie for nine years now and she is very important member of our pack/family).

Lovely dog and good to see that she is doing so much better now that you have taken her in. Twice now we have looked into taking in a rescue dog. As experienced dog owners we thought it would be a good thing to do. It's just there is something strange the rescue centres near us. As soon as you contact them they seem to view you with a lot of suspicion and constantly throw up any small reason as to why you shouldn't have a dog. We asked around and a lot of people have said the same thing.

Towards the end of last year our Golden Retriever died of a very aggressive bone cancer, she was only 2 years old. In a few weeks we will be getting a Cockerpoo. Not my choice I hasten to add but it will become part of the family none the less.

2 years. Poor thing. We were devastated to lose one of ours aged 7.

    Rescue centres are odd.
Bureaucrats and jobsworths seem to have taken over some centres
Keep at it. Best of luck

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
