Relay Passive Pre with remote and optional ext buffer/gain stage
Having ventured into the DCB1 territory I have one of the Chinese Resistor Relay pre amps available, the one Firebottle raves about. And rightly so fantastic transparency, matched channel balance and remote control over volume, input, mute etc
This one comes with the 15v (uprated) transformer a fully working remote.
In terms of compatibility I would recommend something with over 40k input impedance. I tried it at 50K, 100K and 1 meg (stereo 20) and it worked great but feeding into an 18K graphic lost bass.

Additionally I have an external 2 input tube buffer with about 12db of gain available. Built by Firebottle and further tweaked by him, at my request, to reduce the back ground noise levels further. With my 94db/m speakers I have to put my ears next to the speakers before I can hear hum now.
