Default Wanted - 'interesting' integrated or power amp

On a whim, yesterday saw the departure of my lovely Vincent amp.

The diminutive TPA3116 class D amp beat it by a small margin on rez and transparency but somehow isn't as musically involving and my attention soon starts to wander.

So, I'm looking for my next amp, my refurbed Cambridge P110 acting as a stopgap which doesn't quite fill the vacancy.

Up to £2k, but happy with a lot less.
    Must be 100% working.

It almost certainly has to be a model I've not had before, as ever I am looking to explore territories new.

So, what ya got that might capture my interest?

I have a Pioneer A-09 that I am thinking of selling at a price within your budget.

Thanks, David - that does look very interesting!

But I'm currently investigating Jake's kind offer. Very tempting indeed.

Give my Valab class A amp a whirl Jerry. Inspired by circuitry from Nelson Pass. Wonderful 20w of pure class A.

Enjoyed listening to it but I've simply got too many amps sitting around. I got this from Tom who let me have it at £300 which was way below what it owed him, yours for same.

Alan (firebottle) had it in to reduce the dissipation so now runs hot instead of very hot. Alan pronounced the sound as 'really good'.

    Here is Toms original thread.

    Hmm.
Tempting indeed at that price, Edward!

But I've previous form with Pass Lab power amps (on which the Valab seems to be based) and I just don't get on with them.
A bargain for sure for someone else.

That's cool Jerry. Your post reminded me that I had the Valab sitting there looking forlorn and needing some love.

KECES S125. Excellent condition. Unusual and sought after and hardly ever come up second hand. Blew Ncore 500 mono-blocks out of the water from a musicality and involvement point of view. £500 delivered
