My money's on the SRM's sounding better than the Stirling GR!
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

As good as any and easy to cut, cover, paint. Is it a double layer sandwiched with feet?

No just a basic frame design 400mm x 200mm x 100mm braced in the corners, and a can of black satin spray paint. I might yet cover the plinth in black leatherette ( or is that too trashy ? )

Not to me it doesn't in fact I bet it will look like a custom made plynth that a known brand would sell for silly money hoping the minions will bite.

We dont do that here or if we do we only do it once

My comment wasn't a "which is better SRM or GR?". It was more along the lines of physically that's all I can get away with irrespective of any other option being better.......
