A few shots taken on the 26th September 2017 at Grosmont station on the North York Moors heritage railway. Lenses were a 180mm Nikon AF-D and a 105mm Sigma. Love this place as it reminds me of my time living at the other end of the line in Pickering between 2005 and 2012.

Way back around 2003 I put together a panel of photographs for the Royal Photographic Society that included people in the environment. These would have been bloody perfect for that workshop and distinction.

Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Once again Grant, thank you for your comment.

Don't know what it is about steam trains. Must be similar to valves. Old tech and engineering. Bloody gorgeous, especially Pacific A4's.

Lovely photos, especially like the first one both the Standard Tank which is such a great workhorse and the thoughtful look on the gentleman face.

Sadly don't have the skills to take such great photos although I did pop out today to catch a Black 5 and Flying Scotsman at Gospel Oak on a positioning move.
