I really like his eponymous album (aka Space Oddity), Hunky Dory and Heroes.

I also enjoy his late albums such as Heathen and The Next DayStar.

Don't care much for his 80s and 90s output, I like several songs from that period and I have them on 45s

Heathen perhaps, but I'm happy with a DB "greatest hits"...

I'm not big a Bowie fan. I have his first album, and a couple from his Berlin period where he collaborated with Brian Eno. 'Scary Monsters' is his most recent offering in my collection. Used to have a copy of 'Pin Ups', but rarely played it so gave it away.

(PS I think I have a Bowie collection on CD somewhere.)

"Hunky Dory" is my favourite Bowie album. The 2015 reissue restored my faith in remastering, the album sounds as if it was recorded just last week.

I kind of favour 'Diamond Dogs' over 'Hunky Dory', partly because 'Diamond Dogs' is generally underrated, and partly because 'Hunky Dory' has the appalling song 'Kooks' on it.

I assume that you are talking about a vinyl release? If so I should consider that. My ancient copy is a bit tired now, such that I tend to use my CD copy, which isn't the same. I would like to have his entire catalogue on vinyl, but whether I manage to do this before I peg it, I'm not sure.

I'm still about ten away from completion, most of which I have on CD anyway. That's not including any compilations, live sets or soundtracks as I need to draw the line somewhere. So many albums, so little time and bog all cash. One day my daughters will inherit these, and if they flog 'em I'll come back and haunt them.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

Oh LOL, light the blue touch paper and run like hell.

I think that Bowie was a bit like Pink Floyd, a couple of classic albums and lots of utter shit. Like I said, light the paper and stand well back.
