    Default Passive Pre Amplifier and Active Speakers - Could it work ?

    Hi

    I'm wondering could my Tisbury Passive pre amp work with Active speakers i am interested to know because i have the Sony SA S1 Speakers & Sony SA H7900's and looking to experiment but dont have enough knowledge but willing to know the pro's and con's if they could work together..
    Yamaha AX 596 Pre
    Quad 405 Power
    Rogers LS7 Speakers
    Arcam Alpha 7SE

    Cambridge Atlantic & Linn Interconnects & Cable Talk 3.1 Speaker Cable

    Vinyl
    Rega Planar 2 / RB250 / Ortofon OM Super 10 / Van Den Hul Bearing Upgrade

    Other Kit

    It depends on the sensitivity of the active speakers and the output of the source.

    Why don't you just try it? - you won't cause any damage.

    should work i think. turn actives up full and use passive as vc

    The Tisbury is 10K Stepped and the output of the SA H7900's - Power Consumption 50 watts - Music Power Output 250 watts

    The only concern is that the actives have a high enough I/P gain.
