This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

If the speakers are bi-wired they will continue to play if only one of the four wires are removed - though, obviously, one drive unit will stop playing. If it is the tweeter that is disconnected it may not be immediately obvious and if the bi-wire links are still in place removing one wire won’t make any difference.

If bi-wire cabling is not in use then, as others have said, disconnecting one wire will - with absolute certainty - cause that speaker to stop playing. If the positive and negative wires touch most amps will tolerate it if it is momentary and very brief.

Wonder if anybody's ever bi-wired not realising the links need to come out?
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

You must have connected the positive and negative - but forgetting to remove the bi-wire links isn’t the same thing and won’t do any harm.

Perhaps the speakers are magic, like the fortune-telling machine in the film 'Big'.
