Total cost of Katana as it was tested is ~$700, this is described here

The PecanPi DAC is currently $225 with power supply included, and even if you buy the optional case, total comes to $350.

Is the new Gala dac better than the PecanPi dac?

Sorry but I need to correct the misleading statements on pricing from Orchardaudio

Katana streamer including RPI and Isolator 370$. PecanPI streamer including RPI is 399$

When shipped to EU , of course taxes of 20% will be added

GALA is exactly the same as PecanPi.

I am finalizing certain items but it looks like GALA will have a USB input instead of spdif, as that has been more widely requested.

    Default Soundcheck

Soundcheck is a non profit organization that does double blind tests on RPI DAC hats

In the last soundcheck they used multiple amps and results were judged by a panel of people

They tested Katana , Primo , Boss , Pecan PI and more

On first Ncore amp tested (very good THD+N) Katana and Boss are in the first 3

On second AMP tested (AB class) Katana and Boss placed in the first 3.
