I've never 'got' the AN thing, and wonder just what other serious designers think when they assess their products.

Diesis Audio OB/Horn and Kondo Japan Ongaku.

The Ongaku really does sound quite like my 211s in terms of imaging and general presentation in this system I felt. Only mine bang out way more power, are monos and cost a damn site less.

Hey ho. Believe me or don't.

Interesting listen with interesting imaging. The horn/bass integration isn't seemless but it's not too bad. Dynamic, spacious and lively sounding but quite a bit of that comes from the amp.

You'll need to be in here when it's loudish and the room isn't packed. Second visit and the impression was completely different.

I've heard a few and as they are usually paired with very sensitive horns etc it always surprises me how noisy they are. For that money I would expect better.

Is that noisy from the transformers or from the speakers?

Yes that's a bit of a curse with SET amps. I have been told that you can remove it completely, but it kills the magic in the sound.

All valve amps hum. Fact of life. You can minimise it though with good design/components and attention to layout.
“Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio”

No, they don't all hum - my Radford STA15 III doesn't 'hum at all.

Jack of what was BD Audio said check out Aeries Cerat.

Two years ago the Aeries Cerat set up really was NOT good. So I was surprised.

However, not being one to avoid a tip, I checked it out.

Award for most improved manufacturer at Munich goes to them. Not Alsyvox league, but just much better than two years ago.

Amps are insane. The six box job you see here. Will find out more tomorrow.

Trouble was the left channel kept dropping out towards the end. Bummer.
