I'm Mike.
Read that yesterday and interesting to read his thoughts regarding the Isolator/no Isolator

Thought it was interesting what was said about using the Isolator and they reflect my own thoughts, I felt when I used it the Boss was better without it?

I felt the BOSS lost some of its dynamics and ebullient nature with the Isolator.

I've not tried it with the SHANTI without the isolator.
Might give it a go. But from experience the isolator has always made proven to bring an upgrade in the sound.

Just trying the Katana/Shanti without the Isolator.
Have been listening for a couple of hours (speakers, closed/open headphones) and I have to say I’m in no rush to put it back in.
Need to give it some real listening but I have to say I’m agreeing with the Darko view currently.
Initial impressions are that the sound is more transparent, coherent and engaging.
We shall see.

A mainly digital setup with a musical amplifier and endearing 1970's speakers. A CD player that hardly ever gets used and a turntable that is good enough to remind my how enjoyable my old vinyl is. Some cables and things.
