Perhaps I spoke too soon. The sun has gone and dark clouds are rolling in. Hmm.

Bit better today, dry with sunny spells, and much warmer at 18C, but accompanied by quite a strong wind... As Del's off work until Monday, we're going to a nice country pub later for lunch, along with my dad, so looking forward to that

Sounds like you need a holiday, mate. Are you going anywhere this year?

I do need a break Marco, not been anywhere for a couple of years. I'm hoping to get down to the west country for a spell in the next week or two if I feel up to it.

A lot of the towpaths are a squishy mess. Not great for cycling.

Thought so, mate. Has your health not been too good again lately?

If you feel up to it, you should get down there, away from the gloom and misery of the big smoke. The fresh air alone, and the feeling of relaxation and tranquility, would do you the power of good

We're going to Italy (by car) this year for 3 weeks, taking my dad with us, and travelling through France and Switzerland along the way. It's the first time we've been in 7 years, so am really looking forward to it and seeing some of my relatives back in the 'old country'.

Plus, as my dad's 86 now, it might be the last chance he gets to do the journey he loves (he's been driving to Italy by car, usually from Scotland, for over 50 years), although of course this time I'll be driving, and also see his family. Anyway, it'll be something for us all to look forward to... Plenty of pics will be taken and posted on our return.

I know you're retired now, but I'm sure you'll agree that everyone needs a break sometime, and there's more to life than just work, and drudging along on the same old boring daily routine!

Ah. West Drayton, the land time forgot! There's a whole load of nothing in particular there.
