Crap Weather For May

16°C here, dry and sunny, although the wind has a slight chill to it. It'll make working in the garden later more pleasant. Want to cut the grass again, and do some digging and weeding. Poppies are starting to come up nicely too... Will take a few pics when they're in full bloom

I know, I remember! Do you still get that thing going on in the winter months, when it can rain for days on end, and never seem to get properly light - and there's just this sort of 'grey gloom' permanently coating the sky and surrounding landscape?

Often, I used to have the lights on all day, from when I got up in the morning until I went to bed at night. I used to hate that... Very depressing, even for a naturally cheery bastard like me!

I used to hate hot weather when I was working, because the air conditioning was crap. Switched on, it was deafening and made very little difference to the temperature anyway. Switched off, it got very warm in the office, and the windows only opened a fraction for health and safety gone mad reasons. Desk-top fans just blew the warm air around a bit.

Now, I don't mind what the weather does, as long as it keeps within sensible boundaries for the time of year, and doesn't stay too dry for too long.

What I used to hate, when working in offices, were the inconsiderate fatties and (permanently sweaty) menopausal women, who used to continually open the windows, even when it wasn't that warm!

They didn't even have the courtesy or manners to ask others first, sharing the same space, whether or not they were comfortable with the windows being wide open... I had a few barneys with them, I can tell you!!

Yes, you're much more placid/tolerant than me, and probably less prone to becoming annoyed. I wouldn't have minded at all, if said sweaty bints had shown some respect/manners, and asked first if we (the majority in the room) wouldn't mind if the window was opened, but not just to do it regardless and only think of themselves... I can't abide such inconsiderateness!

It really pushes my buttons. So they were told what I thought of them in no uncertain terms!! The thing is, it was a room full of sales people, sitting at desks and doing direct selling by phone, and many of us, me included, would've had to sit in a permanent draught for hours while we worked, so I'm sure you'll agree how unacceptable that would've been? Plus, it wasn't a one-off, but a regular occurrence, and so enough was enough...

It's one of the reasons why I'm so glad that I started up my own business, to get away from tossers like that, and also bosses telling me what to do... Nothing better than being your own boss, and so answerable to no-one!
