I'm Allen.
used a moth for more than 10 years without issue... yes, its loud when sucking but it does a grand job. Loricraft is a bit fiddlier and much more expensive but quiet. just missed one actually as it sold the other day

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".
“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Okki Nokki give you a life time guarantee even if bought second hand. I found this out when mine packed up. Excellent customer care.
I'd say they both perform the same. I now have a moth. Wish I kept the Okki Nokki, only because of the size difference.

I'm RICHARD.
Is the Loricraft worth twice as much as a Moth/ Okki Nokki?
It certainly looks a little more complicated, but maybe that's deceptive?

I'm mark.
I don't know whats dreaded about it. For transparency I know Spider and have visited a few times. It wasn't until I'd seen 'dreaded ultrasonic' clean records that were noisy and skipped play with barely a pop that I put my hand in my own pocket and payed for one.
Just offering the OP an alternative, access to ultrasonic baths is a fairly recent thing at reasonable prices. IMO, the VV is worth consideration?

The Ultrasonic bath looks interesting.
Might look into that a bit more as an alternative.
I was that man who was looking to buy a record cleaning machine. Then I realised, unless it's something that you intend to use on a fairly regular basis, there's no point, buy in the service. So - via Keith Monks web site - I found someone local who would clean my whole collection. I agreed a reasonable fee with him and job done. No need to buy a machine, all my records are now perfectly clean. And BTW, KM machines are THE best, that's why the BBC use them.
The idea of trying to put such a contraption together fills me with dread. That’s all.
Yes it’s an alternative, and a valid heads up, as are off the shelf ready made ultrasonic options, albeit at a price.
I went for a reconditioned AudioDesk Systeme Glass, not as expensive as you’d imagine.
Pop the record in the slot push a button and come back to a dry, very clean record. Easy
For me personally, faffing with lots of bits and bobs, drying racks and a whole laboured process, fills me with dread.
Post Script!
Actually looking at Spider's approach takes a lot of my perceived faff out of the process.
So you were correct, they do look a viable option. I was referring to lower DIY threads that basically looked reeky difficult to put together and all a bit flimsy. This refined version spider has worked on
looks great value. The drying thing is still a little off putting, that aside, if i didn't have the AudioDesk Systeme Glass, for that sort of corn i'd have given it a spin (pun intended).
So consider my disparaging words eaten. Spider has taken a fair amount of the DIY out of it.

I have an Okki Nokki, it works well but there is no way you would be able to listen to records while having a cleaning session the vacuum is too loud.
If you want to see and hear one in action come and have a listen to mine. Bring a couple of mucky ones and I will clean them for you so you can gauge for yourself if it's worth buying a RCM.
