    Default Contemplating £10k speakers?

So, you're in the market for spending some serious dosh on loudspeakers. You've read the reviews, spoken to dealers and checked out the brands. You decide to check out the websites of the respected high end manufacturers to gain a little more detail on each product.

    First stop, Avalon:

Now THAT'S a website! How to put customers off from the start rule number 1: Ensure your website doesn't work.

Yeah, and me now! It was a blank screen earlier. They must have fixed it.

But who would really spend £10k on a pair of speakers judging on how the manufacturer's website looks?

Nobody, but you'd expect it to at least work. It is a method of advertising and an opportunity to show off professionalism.

They probably just had a server problem. It seems sorted now.

I preferred it when it was a blank screen
I used to be really disappointed with a few websites - Spectral, DCS, etc. So I stopped looking. Often nice looking ones are really short on info.

But then I guess, what are you going to learn from the websites. I imagine that a company philosophy, links to positive reviews and nice photos are about as good as you're going to get.

The more sofisticated the web site is, the more you pay, for lesser speakers...
