Default Should I hardwire my Mac to my Network

I use Audirvana on my macbook which goes to volumio on my rpi/digione.

My rpi/digione is hardwired to the network but I use my mac wirelessly and its only just dawned on me that I probably need to get this hardwired too.

So do I use a 5/6m ethernet so I can still use it as the controller or do I have a short run and leave it with the other components and use the phone app?

Would there would be any issues with an android controller with AV being on an IOS machine?

I have same set up Audirvana on Mac then Ethernet cable to router. I then have Pi3 + Boss1.2 Ethernet cable to router.

Control Pi via Volumio/Audirvana. Audirvana controlled by Audirvana + on IPad.

Found a suitable ethernet cable and have just realised my macbook air has no RJ45 socket. When did apple come up with that great idea?

Luckily you can buy USB to gigabit ethernet so one is on order.

Sounds complicated. Who doesn't give a ethernet port..
After saying that my zbook looked like it didn't have one, but it turned out one if the slots opens up wide to become one. Sort of spring loaded.
Think it was because its a thin laptop

They do stupid things like that and removing standard headphone sockets from phones. Unnecessary and just plain annoying!

    Yeah it is.

I think the latest x series apple phones are massively overpriced at the moment too (on or off contract) which is why I went for a Huawei p20 Pro but that's a different argument for another time maybe.
