Oh dear, the least said the better! Didn't he used to own/administrate ZG at one time, before it was handed over to someone else, who's name escapes me?

Let's just say I didn't get on with him at all... However, that said, I cannot comment on how good a dealer he is or otherwise, as I've never been a customer of his, so in that respect I bow to your opinion. In any case, he may have changed as a person since the days of ZG, as you're talking about 15 years ago!

Dave posts regularly on here, and always comes across as a nice guy and helpful too. I'm told he is also incredibly handsome. He also sells Luxman, and one day when I'm in a position to buy, Dave's stall is where I'll be going

Of course... As long as the thread topic is relevant to a product (or products) you sell, feel free to promote them out with the trade area!

In terms of the other thing, perhaps he wasn't the owner, or I may have the wrong guy. But there was someone on ZG, called Adam, who was a dealer and lived in Spain that was one of those arrogant 'objectivist types' I've battled with throughout the years on various forums, especially on stand and cable threads, and he used to be friendly with Blzebub (James McPeake), Sideshowbob, and all those other tossers.

You were there too, when all that stuff was kicking off, but if the description above doesn't fit with the Adam you're referring to, then perhaps I'm thinking of someone else. However, Neil's view of ZG and mine are identical. The disgusting way folks were treated on there, if you were the 'wrong type' is the polar opposite of the vibe and attitude we promote on here.

Yes I do recall the Corbinista clan of self indulgent, self appointed audio intelligentsia that combined Napoleon syndrome with ego inflation coupled with a smattering of inferiorty complex

It's precisely the "self appointed audio intelligentsia", as you say, who take over and spoil forums, or certainly used to, and create cliques.

I blame the fact that the Internet is plagued by too many geeks/pompous intellectuals/university types, who suffer from having an inflated sense of self-importance [and often curiously fragile ego], and so look down upon anyone that they don't consider as 'worthy'.

And when such arrogance and pomposity is combined with a nerdy interest in hi-fi, it creates a uniquely loathsome kind of individual - especially if you dare undermine their self-importance or challenge their (often deeply-ingrained) scientific belief system
