And operating my set up is so much easier now - no more plugging/unplugging interconnects to my power amp, which in itself doesn't sound like much of a faff, but switching off the power amp to let the 300b valves cool for a few minutes certainly was!

And finally I can use my headphones, which from this Z40 sound beautifully clear and non-fatiguing. This Myryad is here to stay. Cheers Brian!
Excellent, Steve; that 20 minute 'return to stand-by' after detecting no signal can be a boon. I guess you keep the Z40 in stand-by 24/7; think i's designed that way.

I have been leaving it in standby, although I didn't realise it would do it automatically. Not used to 'helpful hifi'! I haven't really got my head round the volume control though, not used to having two (The Silver Night, while being a power amp, also has a volume control, so I suppose really it's a single-input integrated).

If the rest of Myriad's gear is this nice, I bet you could assemble a very capable second system for not too much money, and I would consider this If my longer-term goal wasn't a vintage set up.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

    T'other system:

I do have to adjust the Z40 control if I want TV through my E.A.R. amplification compared to listening on cans but that's not a great mismatch and certainly doesn't affect s.q. The other way, from pre (other sources) to cans via the Z40 is fine. To actually have the outputs of all these things (4 sources) matching would be asking a bit !!!. I use the high gain switch on the back for all my listening (Senn 300 ohms), but I'd imagine that more efficient cans/pre/whatever may benefit from the lower gain. Luckily, my Lector CDP remote works the Z40, as having a remote for it is useful, even though I only need to stretch a bit (esp. with cat on lap).

    Default Myryad Z40

Hi, I have the Z40 and could do with a remote control, do you happen to remember which Marantz remote works with it?

    Regards

I don't have the original Myryad remote control , however , it does come with a Marantz remote which can be used to control the volume .

It's in excellent condition and comes with original box and packaging .

Sorry Richard no . I also used this to control the volume https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Once I used it to ' learn ' from the Marantz remote . It was pretty straightforward .

    Hi Richard,

I'm the lucky recipient of Brian's Z40, and the remote he sent with it is indeed a Marantz, says on it RC020SR. Brian did say that it just works the volume. I haven't tried the remote, so just give me a minute...yep it works a treat!
