Default New Jelco TK-850M 10" Tonearm

Jelco's new 10" variant of their excellent TK-850 series tonearms will be available next week from my shop (stock is on its way from Japan). The old 10" Jelco SA-750E was easily the best sounding, most musical version of that arm and there seems to be something inherently 'right' about the sound and musical performance of 10" arms - the Japanese have long since favoured arms of this length and they do know a thing or two about vinyl replay! Like all TK series arms, the new TK-850M has Jelco's beautifully executed 'knife edge' vertical bearing.

Details of the TK-850M here https://ammonite-audio.co.uk/product...0m-10-tonearm/

And here is the new Jelco TK-850M 10" tonearm, fitted to the old Kenwood KD-990D with a Jelco HS-30 headshell. Cartridge is the Miyajima Saboten L stereo. It's sounding very nice indeed. Ortofon SPUs up next!

    Hi Shahrin

You cannot fit a 10" Jelco to a TD-124 since the mounting hole needs to be at 240mm from the platter centre, and that goes beyond the edge of the board (and the alloy frame underneath). You could not fit the 10" Jelco with an outrigger board either - that's only suitable for 12" arms.

So, you would need the 9" version of the Jelco, and the TK-850S is a really great arm that works beautifully with the TD-124 (it looks great too).

    Kind regards

    Hugo
