Default filled or non filled speaker stands?

    HI,

have my audionote an`k speaker stands up for sale.
Part of the reason is they are very heavy as they are filled.
    Insanely heavy.

I was thinking maybe ti keep them and remove the filler.

Is it better to have them filled or unfilled?

    Thanks

Default filled or non filled speaker stands?

    It depends.

Some speakers like lighter loading, others like to be sat on some mass. For example: Royds like open frames (or open tubes like the Something Solid SL24), yet ProAcs like Partington Dreadnoughts.
Mana Acoustics Racks / Bright Star IsoNodes Decoupling >> Allo DigiOne Player >> Pedja Rogic's Audial Model S DAC + Pioneer PL-71 turntable / Vista Audio phono-1 mk II / Denon PCL-5 headshell / Reson Reca >> LFD DLS >> LFD PA2M (SE) >> Royd RR3s.

Can you not just remove the filler and try them? Or is that too much hassle, or irreversible..

    They are rediculoosly heavy.
    Must be filed with gold.
A bit of a pain to experiment.
