What makes a café into a restaurant? The absence of ketchup on table? Replacing table cloth with candles? Or is it about prices? Or perhaps when the big board on the wall is replaced by menus. Cafes tend to shut just after dinnertime, maybe that's it.
I once went to a Michelin Café. Actually it was the waiting area at Kwik Fit. Nice enough coffee though.

Lol... Did you follow the link, daftee? The cafe is part of a hospice, which caters for the palliative care of patients with terminal cancer, and is run entirely by voluntary staff. It isn't licensed and closes at 4pm, so not much of a 'restaurant'
The food's great, though! They also do afternoon tea, with all sorts of gorgeous looking home-made cakes and scones, so we're going to try that next time

I took my Mrs and my mother ,for a late Mothers day out .
The pub was recommended by a friend of ours ,and despite its rural rustic charm ,the food was really very very tasty and I enjoyed the pint of Sharps Atlantic too.
I didnt take to the bearded and moustacheoed barman /waiter , who liked to call me Budd , at every occasion , and when he eventually bought us the lovely food ,thought it was also a good idea to tap me on the arm as he went away from the table !
To my shame , I thought he was the new landlord , and I never left a tip
Do I need help or a visit to a shrink?

It's snowing in Devil's Bridge in Wales atm and about 1 degree. Somewhat freezing in the motor home.
However there is the Hafod Hotel a few minutes walk away and the food is sublime. The lamb shank was exquisite.
