In reply to your earlier post, yes I was working this morning, but I only left the house at 9am. Monday to Friday it's 6.30am, but I only set off about 8. I like to take my time, and go on here to see what you scamps have been up to overnight

Saturday I get up about the same time even when not working, as I don't like to waste my weekend sleeping. Sunday is the exception, as by then my mind and body are a complete write-off. You'll get no sense out of me on a Sunday.
Didn't think yours were as 'solidly packed'

Working on a Bank Holiday weekend? Perish the thought! Give me your boss' number and I'll have a word....

In terms of "wasting the weekend sleeping", I fully agree, but if you're still asleep (as indeed you should be at such an ungodly hour), you'll be unaware of 'wasting any time'!

I don't wake up naturally until at least 8am - and that's providing I've gone to bed before 11pm. Any later than that, without the intervention of an alarm clock, and I'm unlikely to see what 9am looks like, never mind 6.30am!!

Far be it for me to defend that lollipop-headed little gob-on-legs, but Mr Kyle is just a collator, not the creator.

Looks like "Shemanitis" is a nationwide epidemic, and with this unseasonably warm weather you see some right old sights, and none of them good.

I did a small lock repair job for one such example earlier this week, and she never offered me a brew (not that I would have accepted, I saw the kitchen). Some folk are just too busy to be think of such niceties, but I don't think sharing an extremely smelly spliff in the garden with her son and his HUGE girlfriend counts.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.

Yes, but he gives publicity to the chav wastes of space, and their vermin existences, thus makes them feel 'important'!

As I've said before, mongrels breeding mongrels... They should be sterilised at birth.

Lol - nice customers you've got! Hey, I guess that their cash is as good as anyone else's... As long as you wash your hands thoroughly after handling it. Their bog must've been too bad to have parked yer botty on, if you resisted the temptation of leaving them 'a wee present'...

Ooh, don't get me started on that bog, not when it's nearly teatime!

That particular customer wasn't one of mine - Lancashire Double Glazing (a very big company in Preston) is meeting itself coming back right now, and the head honcho called me last week to ask if I could give them two days a week to do 'remedial' work on their installations. Nice to be wanted! Making me double busy, which is a good thing.

But the customers cover the whole spectrum of humanity it seems. "Spliff Mum" was actually the customer's tenant.

Glad you're busy, if that's what you want, but it would be nice to have a classier customer base. I supposed that's not really possible when you're selling UPVC windows!

In terms of the bit in bold, it never ceases to amaze me how seemingly normal folk can happily live in slums. Fair enough if they don't have much money, but at least keep things clean!! Being poor is no excuse for living like a slob

Oh, it's currently 26°C here... Been gardening most of the day, and I'm bloody knackered!

It was too hot to go out midday, but became more bearable around 3 to 4 'o clock.

Went out for a long walk and on the way back popped into a pub for a beer. There wasn't anywhere to sit outside, so had to sit inside. Unfortunately there was a football match being shown on at least a half dozen TVs, and the volume was too loud. Couldn't even loose myself in the crossword as I had forgotten to take a pen with me!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”
