I was working at Sunbeam Rowenta when Findus brought out Crispy Pancakes, my boss thought that these would be good for our toasters. He went and bought some, wanted to be the first to test them out, he was not impressed!

My job was a very enjoyable one as Project Engineer in the R&D Dept. At some point all the products had to be tested with food, Coffee makers, sandwich toasters, deep fat fryers, grills, slow cookers, etc. etc. Of course the resultant food had to be consumed! Later, was even better, we got a Home Economist, she tested recipes, we of course had to try the food.

We got fed some tripe as kids (literally) but we only ever had those things once. Even the cats weren't interested in them and that's always a bad sign.

I eat tripe regularly along with pigs’ feet - Chinese recipes can make both very tasty, also pigs intestines are a delicacy in many Sichuan restaurants including one I regularly go to in Egham!
