Download the file based version, listen to that for a few weeks whist looking at the LP cover. This way your enjoyment will be heightened by the time you open the LP.

... or not. In which case you can flog it to someone else who'd rather look at it than play it.

Should have bought three copies, one to keep, one to listen to and one to profit from to pay for all three, it's what plenty other people seem to do.

I did buy it for the music, not the packaging, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I know it's just a mass produced commercial design, but I feel like I'm breaking something some one has made. I'll wait till I've got a glass or two of scotch in me, it'll be open and on the TT in a second.

    Thanks for all the input.
What's the first rule of Fight Club soundtrack? Don't open packaging while pissed.

I don't doubt that. It's not like I'm even thinking I could get more for it unopened if I want to sell it one day. It's simply that the packaging looks so well designed that I don't want to damage it.

I think I've got the CD too somewhere, I'll listen to that.

I never buy vinyl with the intention of selling it, I always buy what I want to keep. I think it would have to be a pretty dark day that made me want think of getting rid of it all.

Funnily enough, I did look to see if there was a cheap one on ebay to play, and someone was selling one that had not even been taken out of the cardboard mailer, they were flogging it straight on unopened. You'd have to hope it's the correct record, let alone in good condition.

i collect rather than speculate. if what ive collected becomes more valuable in time so be it. much of it loses money tbh. some of my old stuff became valuable, but mainly because i kept it in good nick
