New Tannoys
Hi,
I have finally taken delivery of a pair of new Tannoy XT 6Fs. I had had an audition and was fairly impressed but the acid test is getting them hooked up a home.
Straight out of the box they are amazingly finished (I have gloss black). I was expecting a wait before they would loosen up but I am two hours in and I am surprised already.
They are fast and detailed - my concern is that they will be tiring to listen to, but no alarm bells so far. I like the big sound - kind of airy as well. Something, which I cannot yet pinpoint, is perhaps missng between lower mid and upper bass but I suspect this may be placement or lack of boom (which I was getting peed off with my old speakers). Next to them are my Q Acoustics 3050s. I'll switch back in a week or so and see what I think but my impression so far is that I have made a good move here.
Has anyone got a pair of these? Impressions? Experiences with placement?
