Portable Digital Players
I'm looking for a new DAP to replace my AK 70. Contenders are:-
- Astell & Kern A&Ultima SP1000M
- Astell & Kern A&futura SE100
The SP1000M seems to do most of what the flagship SP1000 does for a whole lot less in terms of cash and the 1000 is due to be replaced soon anyway. The SE100 at £500 less has the benefit of a 5" screen but does it compete sound wise with the 1000M?
And finally the Sony looks attractive because of a better user interface (the AK 70 is pretty dire) but has it been left behind the AK offerings soundwise? I don't need the player to be particularly small or lightweight (no commuting involved) and I don't need internet connectivity for streaming services. I just want the best music player I can find.
Anyone own or have a view on those listed?
