    Default CDM4 Transport Tweak

    I have a CD50 marantz and a CD52 both with CDM4 transports.

I had some mistracking with my much loved CD52 this evening and fixed it with a flat blade screwdriver end and 4 tabs of sunflower oil
to the screwdriver tip, to then very very lightly lubricate the central metal bearing which interfaces with the plastic upper section. No mistracking following

I dont think I'd use sunflower oil which will coagulate over time. Special plastic grease SPG is what you need for lubing this type of thing

Thanks for your reply. As I google search the subject coagulation requires addition of other liquid, which is not the case here.
rather the articles that I am reading seem to highly recommend sunflower oil for its superior lubricating ability.

When or if it subsequently fails I will write back - which might be many years from now.

"blood had coagulated round the edges of the gash"

There's no other fluid involved in coagulation. just look around the neck of a bottle of sunflower oil that's been opened and left at room temp for a few months.......
