    Knocking this idea on the head, looks like I need more gain that the passives give me and I miss the tube sound, maybe another JW pre or a Doge is the way forward but I guess that is for another thread

    After thinking I needed some gain, Alan (Firebottle) sent me a cracking little external valve stage buffer but after playing about with it I actually think it works better in my system when attenuated so given my hunt for a DCBI Turbo is back on.

    I have sent another PM to Steve (STD305M) but I know several others have built these and might be looking to move to an even higher level so again open to interesting offers

    Couple of months on and still interested in dcb1 offers, low gain preamps' or buffers.
