    Default Vinyl pop up shop

Enjoyed a visit to a vinyl pop up shop locally, only here for 4 days unfortunately. Not a huge selection of records but some interesting stuff, mainly limited editions and coloured vinyl.
There was a 2 disc version of Music from the Big Pink by The Band - 45 RPM on pink vinyl which I thought about buying, lots of new stuff as well much of which I had never heard of, must be getting old.
He also had Project RCM, so might go back later today and have a few records cleaned.
On the subject of which I am looking for something similar myself if anyone has one for sale.
    Regards
    Robin

Just a wee update, managed to have one record cleaned, but the machine was too loud for the small shop. So the record cleaning service was abandoned for the rest of the weekend.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Back in the late 80s when I was a Saturday boy in an audio shop, that was one of my jobs, record cleaning. I hated doing it. The RCM was located in a back hall, at the top of a flight of stairs. The echo was awful from it. Once I wrecked a valuable record, glue from under the velvet brush got onto it. The thing ran hot and this customer brought a load of records in for cleaning and well..... it all got too warm.... oooppppps. After that I refused to clean valuable records.

All these years on they are still noisy to use.

Where about's did it POP up.

I remember a pop up, in Callander once, and another time in a scouts hall in Dunkeld. Got some nice music on both occasions.

The pop up shop was in Gourock from Thursday to Sunday, not a huge selection unfortunately. The one record that I had cleaned came up pretty good though.
But it was very loud in a very small shop. Still thinking of buying one though.

    Robin
