    Hmm, I'd be sceptical as I have glass doors behind the speaker position. It does boom with ever rear ported design I tried.

    Maybe a bit a foam behind....................

    Straws or foam bungs can sometimes solve that without sucking too much life from the speaker.

    Start with socks and see how it works. Straws allow the speaker to breathe more but might not fully alleviate the issue.

    i have French doors adjacent to my left speaker with kilo serge wool curtains as used in vocal booths. Works great.

    Oh, thats not a bad idea. It would be nice to have the option of rear ported speakers

    Well I was experiencing some boom but it has now gone since I changed the amp !
