    Anyone know the story behind this underated gem?

    Recently acquired a lovely mint boxed one of these for pennies! Even still has its warranty card!

    Great build quality, lovely huge Sony ES transformer inside, no stupid tone controls to mess about with

    Why exactly did Sony badge this as a run of the mill E model?

    Something tells me this was possibly Sony's attempt to compete with the Pioneer A400 for the UK market?

    Can only say that what these can be picked up for is a blessing for any hifi nut on a budget, nice build and plenty power, what's not to like ?

    Phono stage will be ok but stages do tend to become really good higher up the range you go with japanese integrated amps.
