    Default Stirling Broadcast LS3/5a V2

Heard a pair in 2011. Looking back now I actually did like them. Can easily live with the Stirlings for life.

The treble was fairly smooth and didn't show off any rude hot spikes in the top. Another speaker I can listen to for long periods.

Toying with the idea of getting a pair in the future.

Anyone of this parish using Stirling Broadcast speakers?

I think there was a pair for sale a while ago, it might have been Josie or Bev selling them.

No but they could tell you what they thought, and why they sold.

I've done a couple of demos using them.

Tonal wise. How do they compete against the P3ESR?

I found them thinner and quacky. Didn't have the bass weight either.

I have the new Falcon LS3/5a - a diy version as it was only available in kit form for the first couple of months of production.

I do not consider it a “room” speaker but is sublime placed as designed as a near field monitor. In my study its the best computer monitor you will find. It cant compete with more modern full range speakers and I find its strength is in the midrange and particularly for voice - think jazz singers like Diana Krall.

I have a pair of Spendors of a similar design and they are much more balanced across the frequency range and do make lovely speakers for a small room. I think the model no is SP1 or similar.
