    Default Hello everyone..

Hello, my name is Peter and I've recently retired. I'm getting used to not having to go to work every day by indulging in a few projects. The one which is exercising me and costing rather more than I thought when I started out is revitalising my hi-fi system. My current line up consists of a Townshend Elite Rock - very early one dating from the early 80s, an AT 33Sa MC cartridge, a recently acquired Rogue Audio Stealth phono stage, Rogue RP1 pre-amp, my trusty Radford STA 25 power amp and Ferrograph S1 monitors from the dark ages.

I listen to a lot of classical music but I'm also rebuilding my late 60s and early 70s rock collection on LPs.

    Definitely looking for advice...

    Hello Peter. Welcome to AOS.

I'm sure you'll soon get used to being retired and then end up wondering how you ever found the time for a job.

That's an interesting selection of equipment you've put together, particularly the S1 speakers, I've not seen a pair for forty years, although I believe we have members who own some.

Feel free to join in the fun and have a chat with folks.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Hello Geoff

I'm very fond of them and their bass performance is quite outstanding but where they don't impress is in the soundstage imaging. They are probably the weak link in the system but it is going to take rather a lot of cash to replace them with something significantly better.
