    Default Greetings from N. Lancs.

Hi all, Andy McC here, 50-something yr old from North Lancs.

My musical tastes have varied over the years but recently I've been enjoying revisiting 80's/90's ambient and electronic.

I'm actually still using gear I mostly acquired in the 90's, I haven't felt the need to replace it, it still does the job The main system is NAP72/Hicap/NAP250/Briks, fed by a Mantra/RB300/Elys and a Rotel CD player. I do sometimes feed it from a PC with an E-MU studio sound card, which works well.

My previous main system was a Nytech/ARC101 active setup, which I acquired in the late 80's. However the speakers are long gone, and the CA252 amp is now driving Kan Mk1's on Kan stands. This is fed by a little streamer I chucked together using a Pi and cheap DAC card. This gets my toes tapping quite nicely.

    Hello Andy. Welcome to AOS.

Nothing wrong with using older gear, not many of us have all new systems.

Take a look around the site, I'm sure you'll find much to interest you and feel free to join in the chat.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
